Hotel / Cabin Accomodation
Xanterra handles all hotel room bookings inlcuding Phantom Ranch dorms and cabins at www.grandcanyonlodges.com. Book well in advance (e.g. 12 months) for in-season trips. In colder months, rim rooms are a little easier to find.

Camping Permits
A Back-Country permit is essential if you want to camp inside the park. These are issued by the National Park Service (www.nps.gov/grca). If the rangers find you camped inside the park without a permit, you'll be made to pack everything up and hike out in the dark. No exceptions.
